Inofile Streamlines Clinical Documentation

HEALTHMEDX and Imagetek Team up to Ease Electronic Records Management Transition for Home Health Agencies and Long Term Care Facilities

New Technology Improves Document Capture; Streamlines Clinical Documentation

Ozark, MO, April 20, 2009 – HealthMEDX, the number one US based software provider for long-term care, home health, and rehab organizations today announced a technology partnership with Imagetek, a national leader in enterprise content management and business process automation, to bridge the gap between paper-based documents and the HealthMEDX electronic health records (EHR) system, easing the electronic records management transition for healthcare providers.

Together, Imagetek and HealthMEDX have created a solution that provides extended care organizations with easy and reliable access to patient data, including active and archived paper documents, through the Inofile™ interface. Imagetek’s Inofile document processing service enables direct document scanning and delivery. Hosted within the Fujitsu fi-6010N iScanner, Inofile’s convenient touch-and-go interface allows clinicians to automatically scan and store documents to the HealthMEDX solution in context with the patient record.

“We are excited to partner with HealthMEDX for the extended care industry. This partnership allows us to leverage the amazing technology of Inofile, which is essential in alleviating the cumbersome process of paper management in this segment of the healthcare community,” said Dane Meuler, vice president, business development, Imagetek. “The scanning and indexing integration of Inofile with the HealthMEDX solution empowers end users to create a seamless document management solution that accelerates the transition to paperless healthcare.”

The advanced features of the Fujitsu fi-6010N iScanner allows Home Health Agencies and Long Term care facilities to capture paper documents in a digital format for emailing, faxing, and storage within the HealthMEDX EHR solution, providing healthcare professionals with instant accessibility to time sensitive records and paperwork.

“The Inofile interface is a perfect complement to our products,” said Charlie Daniels, president, HealthMEDX. “The simple interface of Inofile, combined with the capture functionality of the fi-6010N iScanner by Fujitsu makes it easy for our customers to achieve their goal of transitioning to a fully functional electronic health record.”

“In this fast-paced industry, healthcare documentation can be very work intensive, the Fujitsu fi-6010N iScanner was designed to streamline document capture needs and ease the frustrations of paper intensive environments such as these,” said Douglas Rudolph, vice president of product management and business development, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. “Integrating the Fujitsu fi-6010N iScanner with Inofile technologies will enable healthcare professionals to streamline workflow in a decentralized work environment and provide improved patient care.”
